Ingredients and Quantities

One-Pan Chicken with Buttered Noodles (4 servings)

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2½ cups chicken broth
  • 8 oz egg noodles
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional garnish)

Tips for Success

  • Use chicken thighs for extra juiciness
  • Season chicken well before searing for deeper flavor
  • Stir noodles occasionally to prevent sticking
  • Simmer gently so noodles absorb broth evenly
  • Finish with extra butter for richer taste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Season chicken with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  3. Sear chicken 4–5 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, reduce heat to medium and add butter and garlic. Sauté until fragrant.
  5. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer.
  6. Add egg noodles, stirring to submerge them.
  7. Cover and cook 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until noodles are tender and liquid is mostly absorbed.
  8. Return chicken to the pan and spoon noodles over the top.
  9. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and parsley if desired.
  10. Serve hot directly from the pan.
